| The year round all purpose bivy. The South Col is more weather tight than the Salathe because it has less zippers and less bug screen, but with less ventilation. The left or right side 22"/56cm zipper makes access easy. Velcroed weather flaps are great for venting or allowing you to stay roped up on a big wall. The sheltered horizontal face level zipper closure and zippered layer of no-see-um netting offer good ventilation in foul weather. A replaceable wire stiffener in the hood brim encourages air flow and keeps the fabric off your face. The South Col has a full Tegraltex top and foot section.
